Didyou know that Cumberland and SalemCounties are among the poorest counties of New
Jersey? In addition to a
large migrant population, these counties are home to high numbers of working
poor as well as the largest numbers of teen parents in New
Jersey. Unfortunately, for
various reasons, many of these community members struggle with limited
financial resources and cannot afford to get some of the basic items needed to
set up and maintain a home for their families.
Our
organization – The
Robin Hood Project, Inc. – provides these families with some of the basic
needs for their home and for their families. It is our mission to collect
donations of needed items from other local families and put these donated items
into the hands of families in our community who need them.
*We
collect clothing, kitchen ware, linens, baby needs and toys.
*We
pick these items up from people like you at a convenient time and deliver them
to local needy families.
*We
work with various local social service organizations by assisting them in
finding the necessities for the families they serve.
*We
are friends and neighbors working together to help our community members in
need.
When
we get a call requesting certain items for a needy family, we specifically pull
those items from our storage unit and personally deliver them either directly
to the family or to the agency that has requested them, which then gets them to
the family.
Besides
directly helping needy families in our community who are directly referred to
us, our organization also helps families who are connected with other local
non-profit organizations and educational programs. We have provided needed
items to The Family Success Center of Vineland, The Early Intervention Program
of South Jersey HealthCare, The Spanish
Community Center, Cumberland County Special Health Services and The Jubilee
Women of Vineland.
Our goal, is to continue to do our work on a local, small and personal level to
insure that our poorest community members are directly served.
If
you would like donate items, or you would like to be placed on our volunteer
